Several speculations were made during the strange ailment that befell the first lady of Nigeria, some were of the view that Dame Jonathan traveled out for a tummy tuck, sources close to the presidency revealed that she was treated for cancer of the uterus at Horst Schmidt Klinik in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The entire country was completely shut out of the truth by the Presidency, when it claimed that the first lady is being admitted for food poisoning. It would be recalled that, before the eventual arrival of Dame to Nigeria on 16th of October 2012, Delegates from Nigeria were prevented from seeing the first lady, meanwhile she had been transferred to various world class hospitals. When She failed to show up with her husband at the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, news went round about her death which later turned out to be an hoax.
On Sunday 17th February 2013, the first lady and her family had a thanksgiving service at the state House chapel in Abuja, where she claimed to have died for 7 days and came back to life miraculously (Medically its nearly impossible for heart to stop for such a long period! Dead is an extreme use of word by the first lady)
The first lady also said that, some people who had taken her for dead had began selling her properties (Who dare goes into the Aso Villa and sell her property?).
Till the present moment the presidency hasn’t come out clean to state what ailment befell her excellency, all that has been done so far is a N500 million naira worth of thanksgiving and Patience Jonathan is hale and hearty
